HIP TIPS

Usability Tip:
RESET Button and Forms

No online form would be complete without a SUBMIT button. But what about that other button: the CLEAR or RESET button that erases the user's input? Does it help the user? Generally, the answer is no. Often a RESET button does more harm than good.

HTML Tip:
Renewed Importance Of META Tags

META tags are back — at least with some search engines. Depending on your site design and technology, good META tags may be one route to improved search engine rank.

CSS Tip:
You Are Here

One easy way to make your navigation menu more user-friendly is to disable the current page in the menu. We'll show you how to accomplish this using basic HTML and CSS: no JavaScript or PHP coding required!

Her expertise in scientific computing and applied mathematics has led to over 20 professional presentations and publications in the scientific literature. The most influential of her publications include:

  • "A Portable Version of EFIT with Toroidal Rotation for VMS and UNIX Environments," presented at the 34th Annual American Physical Society Conference on Controlled Fusion and Plasma Physics, Nov. 16-20, Seattle, WA, and published in the Bulletin (Abstract) 37 (1992) 1511 S.J. Thompson et al.

  • "Profile Analysis of High Performance Discharges in the DIII-D Tokamak," presented at the 35th Annual American Physical Society Conference on Controlled Fusion and Plasma Physics, Nov. 1-5, St. Louis, MO, and published in the Bulletin (Abstract) 38 (1993) 2066 S.J. Thompson et al.

  • "High Internal Inductance Improved Confinement H-mode Discharges Obtained with an Elongation Ramp Technique in the DIII-D Tokamak," Physical Review Letters 70 (1993) 3435 L.L. Lao et al.

  • "Investigations of VH-mode in DIII-D and JET," Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion 35 (1993) B263 C.M. Greenfield et al.

  • "Recent VH-mode Results on DIII-D," presented at the 4th H-mode Workshop, Nov. 15-17, 1993, Naka, Japan, and published in Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion 36 (1994), General Atomics Report GA-A21554 (1994) T.H. Osborne et al.

  • "The Effect of the Edge Current Density on Confinement and Kink Mode Stability in H-mode and VH-mode Discharges," presented at the 21st European Physical Society Conference on Controlled Fusion and Plasma Physics, June 27-July 1, 1994, Montpellier, France, and published in the Proceedings, General Atomics Report GA-A21737 (1994) J.R. Ferron et al.

  • "Transport Simulations of Confinement Improvement Through NBI Orbit Loss," presented at the 36th Annual American Physical Society Conference on Controlled Fusion and Plasma Physics, Nov. 7-11, 1994, Minneapolis, MN, and published in the Bulletin (Abstract) 39 (1994) R.D. Stambaugh et al.
